Artist Bio:

Zihan Karim is an interdisciplinary artist interested in “Different modes of Archiving” influences within contemporary moving image and video installation, a practice concerned with the development of the concept of art as a record and professional research, which informs an ongoing interest in future pedagogy. He seeks to establish communication between the physical and the digital worlds. By using film projections, he creates interventions in the various spaces that change the context of the location. Karim attempts to transport viewers to a perceptual world by utilising the capacity for emotion, reasonable image movement, and our capacity for imagination.

Shohrab Jahan (b. 1987) is an interdisciplinary practitioner, practicing mainly as an artist, educator, and curator. His practice-based research focuses on human interaction with the landscape, including current research on the Sundarbans mangrove forest, its ecology, and how it challenges urban-centric knowledge to better understand the landscape. Shohrab is also interested in personal history expressed through human behavior, habit, household objects, and oral and local history. His work takes the form of film or moving images, installations, and books as sculpture. He studied for an MA in Artists’ Film at Goldsmiths as a Chevening Scholar, previously studied for a BA and an MA in sculpture.
