For the second time Fratton Big Local (FBL) is delighted to be part of We Shine. It is a magical evening of beautiful lanterns and inspiring drumming from Batala Samba Band in the heart of Fratton.

The lantern parade departs from the Dominos in Fratton for a prompt 6PM start and walk down Fratton Road to St Marys Church.

Lantern Workshops

Would you like to make a lantern? Join us at one of the free workshops and make a lantern to be collected by you on the night or you can make a lantern at home and bring it with you. Please note: all lanterns must be lit by battery powered lights only.
No booking required but please note some of the workshops are with pre-existing groups who have kindly opened their session to the wider community so space may be limited.

Fratton Big Local is a Big Lottery funded 10-year project. It was launched in 2013 and aims to make lasting improvements to Fratton. It is run by a partnership of local residents.
